Abstract
This paper analyses the first six volumes of Olympiads in Informatics, examining the papers that have been published in these volumes and the authors who have written them. It finds that the journal is truly international, and that its authors appear to conform with the pattern expected of a discipline, notwithstanding that at this point it has only a short history and a small pool of publications. With regard to the papers themselves, the analysis finds that they cover a reasonable range of topics within the overall area of informatics olympiads, and that while they are predominantly reports, over the six years they show a pleasing increase in the number of analytical research papers.
